Day 140: The Calico Bean Market in Dubuque, Iowa

We made a stop at the Calico Bean Market today here in Dubuque, Iowa.  This is our absolute favorite store when it comes to cooking/baking.

This past Saturday they introduced their Facebook fans to 30 varieties of Gourmet Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars (samples available).

You have a choice of four different size bottles:  50 ml, 100 ml, 200 ml, and 375 ml.  We chose five flavors to try.

Adam is preparing his meat for the grill as I type.  I might just have to put some Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar on my ice cream tonight.  And in some brownies.  I wonder how it would taste in banana bread.  The possibilities are endless.

Day 110: Record Store Day 2013

Any other photo today just wouldn't be right.

Record Store Day 2013 was a huge success.  I got my hands on some gems.  There are two local record shops here in town.  Some cities have none.  I support them both.

Best part of the day was getting home and unpacking my tote bag to find some extra goodies in the bottom.  Like the Jack White button.  Can't wait for next year.

Day 58: Shop Local

Today I get to work from home due to the snow we got last night.  When I did venture out into the wild I visited my favorite store in Dubuque, Iowa.  The Calico Bean Market.  They grind fresh peanut butter right before your eyes!  I love this stuff!  I picked up a few other oddities, but I went solely for the peanut butter.
